Jacob Says:
I originally started taking photos around the age of 15. My first real camera was a self built oatmeal container and I used it to make pinhole portraits of the girls who inspired me. I eventually found a digital camera and my father supported my interest. I took that camera everywhere I traveled, using it as a tool, a shield and a weapon when needed.
I've seen terrible things in the course of my short life and often I've photographed it. The action assists my ability to cope, photos help me to understand what I experienced. I'll never be able to stop photographing things, even if I were to lose my vision. Photography goes far beyond just images on a screen or on paper.
