Suburban Kids With Biblical Names

Photo by Henrik Martensson, for Labrador Records.
Suburban Kids with Biblical Names is Johan Hedberg and Peter Gunnarsson. They make and record their music almost anywhere; in the hallway or perhaps the storehouse at the home of Peter's kind parents. Here is the secret formula: Johan makes simple drafts of the songs and then Peter polishes them and turn them into shiny pop songs.
SKWBN was featured by Sonic magazine, toured with Belle and Sebastian and played "at basically every little pop festival worth mentioning in Sweden." They tour the USA, UK and Ireland in May 2007 (check their official website for tour dates).

Jahiliyyah
Jahiliyyah is a drone/psych-drenched collaborative project between Ezra Woolnough and Dave McMahon (members of Grauss vom Krampuss) and Cal Lyall (Tetragrammaton, Missing Man Foundation). Originally formed in 1844, when the last pair of Great Auks were killed on the island of Eldey, Jahiliyyah uses crude tools and broken electronics to venture into the aural realm of siberian snowstorms and narcoleptic incantations. The band is active in and around Tokyo, Japan.
Their latest album, "Anon Nehrut," is available for $14 from soundispatch.com.

Apollo Sunshine
Hailing from Boston, MA, Apollo Sunshine formed as a trio while Jesse Gallagher, Sam Cohen and Jeremy Black were attending Berklee College of Music. After incorporating two more guitarists, the band debuted in 2003 with Katonah, a high-energy rock album which garnered critical acclaim from the New York Times and Alternative Press. They've opened for Sonic Youth, The Roots, My Morning Jacket and many more, jammed with Leon Redbone, and taken over at Fox Morning News.
As of this writing, Apollo Sunshine is touring America, with stops in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Tennessee. Check them out at the Bonnarroo Music Festival on June 17th.
