In my alternate universe, the eighties never happened, Kurt Cobain and Elliot Smith cohost a popular marriage-counseling program ("Dying Via Compromise"), and charging over $20,000 for a college education would be punishable with death. What about you?
Did you have an imaginary world as a child? What was it filled with? Do you still have one? When you look at the world in the year 2007, what do you wish was different?
We're looking for short stories, short short stories, paintings, drawings, photographs and music about life in an alternate universe. It need not bear any facsimile to this one &mdash maybe everyone is colored green and eats ham sandwiches, or unicorn meat is discovered to be the fountain of youth. All art is, in a way, in an alternate universe &mdash but for this, we'd like to know the parameters of it.
